Freedom to Choose

Supplied Artwork or Designed by Us

We can work on a design concept with you at a very competitive rate and our Graphic Design Artists will be able to help you every step of the way. You can also browse our look book for ideas and to see the quality of our labels along with the different techniques that can be used to achieve the desired image for your product.

Supplied Artwork

If you already have your label designed all we need is for your artwork to be supplied in a Vectorised PDF format along with the specified Pantone Colours. These colours will be used to match with the corresponding Pantone ink formulation. Your artwork will then go through the same pre-press process as with labels designed in-house by our own Graphic Designers. Once it is proof ready it will be sent to you for your final approval. The proof will be a close representation of how the finished label will appear once printed.

Pre-Press Stages

There are Two - Three stages to the Pre-Press process. Pre-flight, Creating a Proof and Printing Plates(Flexographic Printing).

First Stage: Pre-Flight

This stage is performed to catch any issues with the file set-up that may prevent it from being print ready.

Once the Graphics file has been created by the designer, the file is checked to ensure it contains all the elements for a successful print run. The file is checked to make sure that the images are in the proper resolution and format, the fonts have been included and the PMS/CMYK colours are set appropriately. Elements of the layout such as margins, crop marks and bleeds are all set correctly.

If artwork has been supplied to Label Image, please bear in mind that this stage is not really intended to find or correct grammar or spelling mistakes. It is highly recommended that all general editing/proof-reading be performed by the designer and/or client before the pre-flight stage. This is also stated in the terms and conditions when signing the approval for your final artwork.

Second Stage: Creating a Proof

At this stage of the process a proof of your artwork will be created and emailed to you for approval. The proof is a close representation of how your finished label will look once printed. In addition to unforeseen errors, the purpose of the proof stage is to ensure that both client and designer are in complete agreement on the desired outcome. This stage is complete once the signed declaration of the Artwork Proof is sent back to Label Image.

Third Stage: Printing Plates

After receipt of the signed proof is returned by the client the project is ready for press production. Your labels will be either printed Digitally or on our UV Flexo Presses. If Digitally then the process is near on complete. If your label is heading for the Flexo then plates are created by one of our Reprographic Team. Various plates are created to produce your inked image to the exact place on the Label. Once your label is on the press our Print Technicians will then begin the registration of the label along with the colour matching of the inks before gaining final sign-off from the Graphic Designer to proceed with the print.
